Share the Treats is an interactive lesson in sharing with a Halloween-theme for lower primary classrooms.
The resource provides practice in the following number concepts:
- counting
- one-by-one sharing
- equal shares
- remainders
The resource presents a series of twelve slides for discussion. The richness of the discussion that occurs between teacher and children is what helps to consolidate children’s learning.
On each slide, encourage children to:
- count how many treats there are all together
- share the treats by dragging them onto the plates one at a time
- discuss how many treats each child has
- discuss how many treats are left over
A follow-up worksheet for independent practice can be accessed from within the resource.
